brother of Catherine Eileen Hunkele and the late Mary Virginia Hunkele and Marian 

Ahlstrom

uncle of Kathleen Hotaling of Riverview, FL ( late husband John), and Paul Ahlstrom 

(Janet) of Loveland, CO

also survived by great nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews, and dear 

cousins, including Thomas and Joan Dougherty of Gibsonia

Lawrence was a retired assistant VP of Mellon Bank, and a member of Morningside 

VFW. He was a graduate of Central Catholic High School, Duquesne University, and the 

University of Wisconsin in Madison, WI.He was a Chief Petty Officer in the USNavy, 

serving on a LCI during WWII in the Pacific Theatre

Mass of christian burial Wednesday 10 AM at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 

Middle Road.
