To my Zillweger Family, My heart is deeply saddened by the news of Richards'passing. Although we didn't see each other often, when we did He brought a smile to my face. The void he leaves will be felt by many. Love and Prayers to you all.

The Officers and Members of Cherry City V.F.C. extend our most heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of Chief Zillweger. From the time he joined our company, his impact on all of us was immediate. Rich rose through the ranks, taking the time to learn all the necessary skills to become Chief, in what can not be denied, the shortest time possible. His leadership skills were unparalleled and he quickly gained the respect of our fireman and the chiefs and firemen of our neighboring communities, wherever we responded to assist. The footprint he left on our company will never be forgotten, and the impact he left in all of lives will last forever. We will cherish the times we had with him, which were many, and hope to continue on with many of his values he left with us. Rest in Peace.
