Candy R. Binkert

Age 55, of Pittsburgh, on Dec. 8, 2018.  

Wife of William F.  

Mother of Rihn Nolan (Mackenzie), Patrick Binkert (Sabrina), Gino Binkert (Holly).  

Daughter of the late Arthur and Isabel Mellinger.  

Sister of Jancey Dailey (David), Daniel Mellinger (late Denise), Greg Mellinger (Alice), Cindy Bistransin, Mark Mellinger (Jackie), Tammy Rocco (Sam), Jeff Mellinger (Heather), Tracy Micknowski (Ray), Art Carr (Mary), and the late Douglas Mellinger (surviving wife Ginger).  

Also many nieces and nephews.  

Candy was a pillar of strength in her role as a mother of 3, as a wife, as a sister of 10 siblings, and as an aunt and great-aunt to many.  No matter what problem the family was facing, she always found a way to help, ignoring her own challenges.  She worked as a laboratory technician at Allegheny General Hospital for over 35 years.  She also worked as an EMT, and as manager at Skateland and Romp’n Roll.  Candy was also an avid dirt track racing fan which led her to working as a videographer and pit steward at Lernerville Speedway and Pittsburgh Motor Speedway.  No matter who she met at the race track, she always greeted them with a smile and offered a caring ear.  Throughout her life she was also involved at Glenshaw Valley Presbyterian Church as a member and youth group leader.  Candy never let any obstacle stand in her way as she battled her many ailments.  She always put everyone else’s happiness ahead of hers.  

Visitation Wednesday 2-4 and 6-8 PM at Neely Funeral Home, 2208 Mt. Royal Blvd., Glenshaw, PA 15116.  

Funeral Service Thursday 11 A.M. at Glenshaw Valley Presbyterian Church, 1520 Butler Plank Rd., Glenshaw, PA 15116, EVERYONE PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH.
