Dr. Jim was the finest man, husband and father and grandfather I have had the priviledge to know. Our families were connected as soon as all of you moved next to us. My heart is breaking. My wish was to have visited and consoled his family. Unfortunately, I could not. Please know how much all of us loved him. I have such fond memories of Jim in his garden, shooting hoops with his children, and enjoying every single meal Donna Rea cooked with her loving hands. Through Darryn, I was able to keep that connection. Family picnics every year made holidays so special! I can still hear him cheering for his favorite teams in the family room. May his eternal journey be filled with peace and heavenly love. He will always be remembered with respect and love. Linda

Dear Donna Rae,
Paul and I were saddened to hear of your loss! Separation is so difficult, especially from the one you love so much, and enjoyed for so many years. We are praying that our Comforter, The Lord, will be close to you as He promises us. We are praying for you, and the children at this time.
With fond memories and love, Bethel Baumann

You will be missed by those you touched and loved. Your son, James, always spoke highly of you. Rest quietly and peacefully.

This just breaks our hearts! What a happy upbringing, to grow up next to the Thompsons. It was a privilege, and one which has enriched my life, and by extension those of my family (Alyson, Piper and Roree). The memories never fade. They are part of me. And Dr. Jim was one of the few salt-of-the-earth people I've encountered in all my extensive travels. The quality of his children (my friends!) is a standing testament to the man he was. I'm so sorry for your loss. I'm also sorry I can't be there to pay respects to one of the people who had the most influence on me after my own immediate family. You'll never know how much all of you have been a part of who I am, but it all started with Dr. Jim. I haven't seen him much lately (or any of you), but it still cuts deeply to know he's gone. I wish I could be there in person to pay my respects. I really do. But you have my thoughts and prayers that you quickly find the peace all of you deserve, and know what a wonderful human being I thought he was.
