A. Dennis Adams, of Valencia, PA, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 17, 2026. Born on October 22, 1951 to Spurgeon and Phyllis Adams, Dennis was raised in Johnstown, PA before moving to Reading, PA, where he lived and raised his family for over 35 years.
Dennis proudly served his country in the United States Army, where he was especially recognized for his sharpshooting abilities. Following his military service, he built a successful career as an accountant with Penelec, where he also met his beloved wife, Linda. He later had the honor of serving as Treasurer of Berks County for 10 years. After retiring, Dennis relocated to Valencia, PA to be closer to his daughter and grandchildren, with whom he cherished spending time.
Dennis was well known for his quick wit, outgoing personality, and his remarkable ability to make friends wherever he went. He embraced life fully in his roles as a brother, husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He enjoyed an active lifestyle that included cycling, tennis, golf, and shooting sports.
Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, Spurgeon and Phyllis and his sister in law, Linda. He was a devoted husband to Linda and a loving father to his daughter, Elizabeth (Ryan) Duchak. He is also survived by his two brothers, Wayne and Gary. In addition to his wife and daughter, Dennis leaves behind his cherished grandchildren, Reece, Nolan, and Heath, who brought him immense joy.
Friends will be received at Neely Funeral Home Saturday April 25, 2026 from 10am to 12pm with service to follow.
