Albert Rogers Obituary

Albert Thomas Rogers, age 86 passed away on Wednesday December 29, 2021.  Al was raised in Lawrenceville and the son of Thomas and Ethel Rogers.  Al serviced in the military as a paratrooper and he also boxed when he was younger.  After getting married, he and his wife Lois moved to the Shaler Area where they had 3 children and spent most of their life.  Al was a VP at Mellon Bank in the Information Technology area and he also worked for Fiserv in Pittsburgh and Armco Steel in Butler.  Al loved to tell jokes.  He enjoyed spending vacation time with his family and friends at Deer Valley YMCA Family Camp for more than 50 years and also at Bethany Beach.  After retiring Al spent a lot of time enjoying his grandchildren. 

Al was preceded in death by his wife, Lois, and his brother, Thomas Rogers.  He is survived by his children Tammy (Bill) Jones, Kirk Rogers, Shawn Rogers as well as his six grandchildren, Katie (Josh) Koestline, Brian (Alaina) Jones, Michael (Kelsey) Jones, Kelly Jones, Kevin Rogers, and Shawn Rogers and two great grandchildren Kinsley Jones and Hendrix Koestline.     

The family would like to thank the Shelborne Personal Care facility members for taking good care of Al for the last 8 years and the Butler Memorial Hospital for their care during the last few days of his life.  Al will be greatly missed by his family.

Visitation Saturday 2 until the time of the Blessing Service at 5 P.M. at Neely Funeral Home 2208 Mt. Royal Blvd. Glenshaw.
