Barbara Mary (Boxberger) Bishop

Barbara Mary Bishop (Boxberger), Passed away from natural causes on April 10, 2021 at 103 years young. Born on October 5, 1917 in Mankato, Minn. to the late Eugene and Josephine Boxberger. Sister of the late George Boxberger. Wife of the late Ocel (Lucky) Bishop. Mother of Ruthann (Glenn) Ochs and Bruce (Carol) Bishop. Grandmother of Amanda (Jason) Blank and Douglas Ochs. Proud great-grandmother to Aubry and Bear Blank. Aunt to Michele Boxberger. Barbara moved to the Glenshaw flats with her family when she was three years old. She married Ocel and they built a home on her dad's potato patch. She raised her children, worked at Kaufmann’s McKnight Road and volunteered for Meals on Wheels. Barbara loved her dogs, a cold beer and gardening.  Visitation Tuesday 2-6 PM at Neely Funeral Home, 2208 Mt. Royal Blvd., Glenshaw. Funeral Liturgy Outside of Mass Wednesday at 11 AM at the Funeral Home. Donations may be made to Animal Protectors of Allegheny Valley, 533 Linden Ave., New Kensington, PA 15068 or a shelter of your choice.
