Bruno Iellimo Obituary

Bruno Iellimo, 96, of Glenshaw, PA passed away peacefully on July 3rd, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. He leaves behind a life of love and devotion to his family and friends.

Bruno came to America from Maierato, Italy as a young man with $35 in his pocket in 1950, eager to build a better life. He became a man of many talents and one who could literally fix anything. His passion for hard work and his mechanical talent led to him becoming a successful entrepreneur.

After establishing himself in America, Bruno returned to Italy, where he married the love of his life, Elvira, in 1959. Together, they shared 67 wonderful years of marriage, making their home first in Highland Park and later in Glenshaw.

Bruno was preceded in death by his parents, Santo and Giovanna (Paravati), and his brother, Domenico (survived by Concetta) Iellimo. He is lovingly remembered by his devoted wife, Elvira; his daughters, Adriana (Edward Kocur), Tinamarie (Edward Nordick), and Santina (Henry Ludwick); his six cherished grandchildren; his three great-grandchildren; his sister, Serafina, of Maierato, Italy; and many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends in both the United States and Italy.

Often called “The Mayor of Highland Avenue,” Bruno was a fixture there, whether he was taking care of his businesses and buildings or just talking with friends.

While Bruno enjoyed working and achieving what often seemed to be impossible tasks, his focus was always on his family. He maintained a lifelong commitment to bettering their lives.

In his free time, he enjoyed trips back to Maierato to see family and old friends, and vacations in Riviera Maya Mexico with his wife, daughters, and their families. He also enjoyed playing scopa with his grandson, Alex.

Friends will be received at Neely Funeral Home, 2208 Mount Royal Boulevard, Glenshaw, PA 15116, on Tuesday, July 7 and Wednesday, July 8, 2026 from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm.
A mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, July 9 at 10 am at St. Jude Parish, Sacred Heart Church in Shadyside. He will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery in Pittsburgh.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to St.Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital at www.stjude.org
