E. David Smith Obituary

E. David Smith, age 90, of Allison Park passed away on Monday, June 15, 2020. The beloved husband of Jane Smith, Dave grew up in Naperville, IL and attended the University of Dubuque in Iowa. He served four years in the U.S. Navy and was sent to Officers Training School after scoring very high on the enlistment test. Trained as a chemist, he then worked at Argonne National Laboratories in Chicago. Arriving in Pittsburgh in 1969 to work for USS Chemical, he went on to start a new company, Wise Chemical in 1971. A charter member of St.Paul’s UMC in Allison Park, Dave taught Sunday School for over 40 years. He is survived by his daughters, Mrs. Rebecca Holden (Michael), Mrs. Stephanie Shanahan , Mrs. Jennifer Preston (Phillip) and 6 grandchildren. A kind and caring man, Dave will be dearly missed. Memorials may be sent to North Hills Community Outreach Center 1975 Ferguson Road Allison Park, PA 15101 or to St. Paul’s UMC 1965 Ferguson Road Allison Park, PA 15101.Due to the current corona virus situation their will be no visitation and the service will be private and can be livestreamed on Fri.
