Edward F. (Chief) Stumm, the beloved husband of Barbara Benedict Jones passed away peacefully at his home in Allison Park on March 24, 2022 at the age of 78.
He was preceded in death by his first wife and the mother of his chidren, Beverly Tuchscherer Stumm.
Ed loved and is survived by his wife Barbara Benedict Jones, his children Eddie (Lee Ann), Peter (Kristin) and Melanie West (Rick), his step daughter Elisa Lucke (Dr. Michael) , grandchildren Jacob, Emma, Lily, Sophie, Anna, Emilia, Julia, his Sister Sylvia Marko (Robert), nieces Michele Fitch and Kristin Montanti (Louis), great nieces Katheryn and Lizzi, and his cousins Nancy Wieker (Tom) and Sally Duarte.
Ed was born January 5, 1944 in Pittsburgh, PA. He enjoyed growing up in Millville and Chippewa, where he developed his life long passion for golf. He graduated from Northwestern High School in Darlington, PA in 1961 and the Pennsylvania State University in 1965. His early career included working as a stock broker and at Simplicity Manufacturing. He later went on to start his own business in 1986, Tamarack Corp. and later National Lighting.
Ed was a past member of the North Hills Jaycees, and enjoyed playing cards and bowling. He was a proud jackpot winner of the TV show "Bowling for Dollars" in the 1970's. Ed continued his passion for golf throughout life. He was a member at Dolphin Head Golf Club in Hilton Head, SC, and considered having "shot his age" 3 times as a glowing achievement . Ed was proficient at engineering various mechanical projects and would craft expert wooden masterpieces for himself and, often times, for his family and friends. Ed loved spending time at the family cottage in Deep Creek Lake Maryland where many memories were made boating, waterskiing and playing cards.
No Visitation. A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
