George A. (Shrimp) Simok, Sr., of Shaler Township, in his 95th year, on December 22, 2021 surrounded by his family and friends.
George went to a glorious reunion in heaven with his daughter, Kitty Ann and the love of his life, Kitty (Wetmore), who died in 2010 after 62 years of marriage.
He was also preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Mary Simok and brother, Frank.
George was very proud of his family. He is survived by five children: George, Peg, Jean (Walt) Martin, Bill and Jim (Lisa).
Also 10 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Despite dementia stealing George’s memory, he remained himself, lovable, loving, funny and smart. George regaled his children with detailed stories of the Navy and the Post Office.
George was a proud U.S. Navy veteran of WW II. We lost our sweet loving Dad and Pap, the world lost a good man and the U.S.Navy lost a fine Radarman.
If you ever met George, “You know that on the other hand … she wore a glove.”
In George’s memory, tell a joke or make someone smile.
