Ida Marie Peterson

Ida Marie Peterson, of Shaler Township, died May 7th, one month shy of her 97th birthday. She is survived by her children Lisa Peterson of University Heights, Ohio, and William Peterson of Shaler, and her brother Andre Levino of Irwin. She was predeceased by her husband of 65 years, Walter Peterson, in 2011, her parents Giovanna and Andre Levino, and her sister Elsie Levino. Born in Westmoreland County, Ida first worked for the Pennsylvania Rubber Company, leaving that job to raise her family. She subsequently returned to work, first in the business office of the Sisters of Divine Providence, and finishing her career as business secretary for Shaler Area School District, where she also served as Secretary to the school board of directors. Ida was a founding and lifelong member of St. Bonaventure Parish in Glenshaw. Visitation will be Thursday, May 13th from 2 – 4 pm and 6 - 8pm at Neely Funeral Home, 2208 Mt. Royal Blvd., Glenshaw. Funeral Liturgy Outside Of Mass Friday, May 14th at 10 am at the Funeral Home. Interment will be private.
