James Tipler Obituary

James Walter Tipler, Jr. age 67, of Shaler Township, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, March 4th, 2026; leaving behind a lifetime of memories rooted in the outdoors that he loved so deeply.

A devoted son, brother, father, husband, friend, hunter, and fisherman. Jim felt most at home in the quiet of the woods or on the water's of Lake Erie. Many of his happiest moments were spent before sunrise in a deer stand, casting a line into calm waters, or sharing stories of the, "one that got away." The changing seasons were his calendar, and the outdoors is where he found both peace and purpose.

Beyond his love for hunting and fishing, Jim was known for his determination, steady presence, generous spirit, and his passion for teaching others the traditions he cherished. Whether showing someone how to bait a hook, track a trail, or simply appreciate a quiet morning in nature, he believed the best memories were made outside.

He leaves behind family and friends who will forever remember early mornings, campfire stories, and the laughter that echoed through family gatherings, fish fry's, corn roasts, hunting camps, and fishing trips. His legacy lives on in the traditions he passed down and the love for the outdoors that inspired those around him.

Jim is survived by his beloved wife Carla, son James (JT) (Olivia), stepfather of Jeremy, Julian and Harley, P PA of Iliana, Devin and Roman, his estranged daughter Elizabeth and sister Bobbi.
He was preceded in death by his parents James and Marilyn, sister Doris, brother Michael, son Joseph, and nephew Evan.

A celebration of his life will be held on April 18th at Parkview Social Hall at 3pm. In his memory, the family encourages spending a day outdoors, casting a line, walking a trail, or simply enjoying the beauty of nature.
