Mary Denise (Counahan) Leya

Mary Denise Counahan Leya, age 84 of Shaler Township, on July 15, 2022.

Denise was born and raised in Lawrenceville. She was a devout Irish Catholic whose life centered around her large family. She met her husband on a blind date and the rest is history. They moved out to the “Country”, Shaler Township in the early 60’s and she raised five children as a stay at home mom.She adored all of her grandchildren and will be greatly missed.

Daughter of the late Daniel and Irene Counahan

Sister of Rita Krepin (the late Ray), Ruth Chavlick (George)and the late Lois Malone (Bill), the late Jeannie Smialek (Stan), the late Catherine Piskurich (Nick), and the late Daniel Counahan.

Visitation Tues. 2-8 PM at Neely Funeral Home 2208 Mt. Royal Blvd. Glenshaw.

Funeral Mass Wed. 10 AM at St. Matthew Parish-St.Bonaventure Church, EVERYONE PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH
