Miriam (Codan) Ziolkowski

MIRIAM CODAN ZIOLKOWSKI

1933-2022

Miriam, age 89, passed away peacefully on December 23, 2022. Miriam was born in Pittsburgh, PA on March 28, 1933 to the late Helen (née Lopar) and Mike Codan.

She was preceded in death in 1989 by her loving husband, Leo Kenneth Ziolkowski. Miriam was the youngest sister of the late Peter (Helen) Codan, Angeline Raynovich (Theodore), Millicent Babics (Michael), Marie Haug (Edward), George Codan (Dorothy)(Rose) and Daniel Codan (Amy).

Left to cherish her memory are her children Sandra Bernot (Joseph), Michele Soergel (Todd) and Mark Ziolkowski (Lynne). She was the best "Bubbie" to Jeremy (Krista), Lauren (Cory), lan, Samuel, Sarah, Ryan and Leah. Great Grandma Miriam to Gresham and Ellis. In addition she loved, and was loved, by many nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews.

Miriam was employed in various positions with the US Government until she retired.

Miriam was our mother, our strength and our rock. She had the kindest soul, a cheerfulness and had a way with everyone she met. She had a special touch when it came to all children. She was a woman of deep faith. We know we were blessed by God by having her as our mother and our Bubbie. She will be eternally loved by her family, all her relatives, friends and neighbors.

We would like to thank all who have been there for Mom and for us. Thank you to her dear neighbors on Parma Drive.

Thanks to all the wonderful people of Anthology of McCandless to whom we owe much gratitude for taking such good care of Mom these past months.

There will be no viewing. Interment will be private. Our family will be holding a Celebration of Life at a future date.
