Nellie Ivis Getchel

Nellie (Nel) Ivis Getchel, age 90, of Allison Park, PA, passed peacefully surrounded by family & friends on November 5, 2022. Nellie was preceded in death by her parents Ernest C. & Ivis L. (Beede) Getchel, and Brother-in-law Louis A. Scola. She is remembered by her sister Lois I. Scola and 10 nieces/nephews including Louis Jr, Laurie, and Lawrence. Deepest gratitude to Linda & Donna. Nellie was an RN, graduating from Wayne State and Boston Universities with degrees in Nursing, going on to earn a Doctorate in Education. She was employed by the VA, affiliated with American Nursing Association, Sigma Theta Tau, & Pi Lambda Theta. Nellie was a world traveler, enjoyed cooking, reading, bridge, symphony, and ushering theatre. No visitation, Memorial service Thursday, Nov. 17, 2022 at 11 AM at Parkwood Presbyterian Church 4289 Mt.
