Raymond L. Hepp

Raymond L. Hepp, 82, of Troy Hill, went to be with the Lord on August 4, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. Though Ray spent many years navigating and overcoming health challenges with quiet grace, his final battle with cancer was short, fierce and met with extraordinary courage. 

He was born October 16, 1943 in Troy Hill to the late Raymond J and Ernestine M (Weidner) Hepp. 

Ray is survived by his devoted wife of 62 years, Mary Ann (Plocido) Hepp, daughter Denise Hepp, sons Ray (Pam) Hepp and Brian (Lindsay) Hepp; 9 grandchildren Nicole (Frank) Tome, Brianna (Dalton) Simonelli, Stephen (Aubrey) Hepp, Jonathan Garside, Jaycob Garside, Mia Garside, Domenic Hepp, Ray Hepp and Brandon Hepp; and 6 great grandchildren Venisia Tome, Giovanni Tome, Sunni Tome, Tateum Simonelli, Wilder Simonelli and Miyah Hepp. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters Ernestine Boss, Annamae Ubinger and Ruth Grabb. 

Ray spent his working years at J&L Steel and Fisher Scientific, but in his later years it was his lifelong commitment to hard work and family that brought him to work for his son Ray’s business.  His life was measured by his relationships – a devoted husband and proud grandfather, a man who loved and cherished his family dearly and will be remembered fondly for making his round of calls to his kids and a man who never met a stranger.  He was a straightshooter who instilled a sense of strength, toughness and determination in his children that continues to be passed down through the generations. He treasured his animals, his horse Dakota and his many dogs. He enjoyed old cars, watching movies, shopping and making his incomparable spaghetti sauce each week to share with his family.  And boy was he a stylish dresser! 

Visitation Thursday August 6th from 3-8 PM at NEELY FUNERAL HOME, 2208 Mt. Royal Blvd, Glenshaw.  Mass of Christian Burial Friday the 7th at 9:30 AM at Christ Our Savior Parish, St. Bonafice Church, 2208 East Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15212, Everyone Please Meet At Church.
