Regis Fowler Obituary

Regis Van Fowler (Rege), age 79 of Shaler Township, passed away on Sunday afternoon, June 6, 2021 preceded in death by his wife of 30 years, Ida T. Fowler.  He was the youngest of six children of the late Charles and Eva Fowler. Surviving Brother Thomas C. (Ruth) and Sister Mary Lou (Art) Powers, and the late William C (Dolores), Rita Bertolini (Rudy), and Gertrude (Norbert) Hock.  Loving father of Regis R. (Catrina), Richard Moore and Suzette (Tom) Roche. Grandfather “Pap" of Justin and Jason Moore; and John and Shannon Roche.  He served both active and reserve duty in the United States Army between 1962 and 1968, was honorably discharged and continued the friendships he made there to this day.  Rege was most noted for his humble and outgoing personality and wanted to lend a hand to anyone he could.  He immensely enjoyed being outdoors, hunting, playing softball and bowling in his younger days or teaching these to his son Regie.

He looked forward to visits at Regie's farm where they would walk or just sit, talk and watch the grass grow together.  He looked forward to the "old guys club" getting together for breakfast every week with friends from his childhood and family or just coffee and coupons with his big brother Tom.  His later years focused around his grandchildren where he was always their number one supporter.  Whether it was watching Justin play hockey, Jason and John playing football or Shannon bowling or playing softball, he took a front row seat whenever he could to provide his loving and caring support with whatever they were doing.
Regie (Pap) will always be remembered for his big smile when he was glad to see you, and we look forward to the time when that memory becomes a reality, when we see him again.

Visitation Friday 2-4 and 6-8 PM at Neely Funeral Home, 2208 Mt. Royal Blvd., Glenshaw.

Funeral Mass Saturday 10 AM at St. Matthew Parish, All Saints Church, Etna.
