Rose Marie Wetzel

Rose “Rosie” Marie Wetzel, 86, of Gibsonia, PA left this world on March 15, 2022.  She returned home to be with her beloved husband of 43 years, Henry.  She was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s in 2011 and was determined to push through any challenges with love, faith, laughter and singing.  Rose was born on July 5, 1935 in Pittsburgh, PA and is the daughter of the late James and Eleanor Donahue (Schmidt).
Beloved mother of Henry M. Wetzel (Rose) and Lynn Ballantine (Ray); cherished grandmother to Brian Wetzel (Erica) and Heather Brock (Albert); dear great-grandmother to Amie, Alessa, Emily, Alexandra and Nicholas Wetzel and Dominic Brock.  Much loved aunt to several nieces and nephews.

Treasured sister to Mary Shankle (Edward), and the late James Donahue, Earl Donahue (surviving Mary), Lawrence Donahue and Theresa Savukynas (surviving Francis).  
Rose was receptionist at Omega Federal Credit Union for 13 years.  She retired at 75 years young.  During her time there, she enjoyed the special friendships that she had with her coworkers and helping the members. She had a wonderful sense of humor, fun-loving spirit and beautiful laugh.  Being a true Pittsburgher, she loved “her” Steelers and Penguins and proudly waived the black and gold!  Rose’s true happiness was the time that she shared with family and friends.  To be loved by her was a true blessing.  We will miss her warm smile, sweet nature and kind heart. 

Visitation will be held at Neely Funeral Home on Sunday, March 20, 2022 from 2-4pm and 5-8pm.  Funeral service will be held at Neely Funeral Home on Monday, March 21, 2022 at 11am.
