Rozella Swanson Rush

Rozella Swanson Rush, 93 of McCandless, Passed away on December 10, 2020. She was born October 3, 1927 in New Kensington, Pennsylvania, where she grew up. She was preceded in death by her mother Esther McVey, her father John Swanson, her daughter Wendy Wassall and her sister LaVera Hill. A beloved mother and grandmother, she is survived by her son Don Wassall, grandsons Rege Metzler, Wyatt Walancus and Judd Behr; great-grandchildren Mason Metzler, Maddox Metzler, Keeton Behr, Vonn Behr, Nolan Behr and Darian Behr; nieces LaRae Lawson and Sue Keenan and nephew Bob Hill. Rozella was a self-taught spiritual thinker and teacher associated for many years with the Institute of Metaphysical Science, formerly called The Margaret Laird Foundation. She authored a book on metaphysics in 1982 and published a newsletter on the same topic, called Reflections, for 35 years. She enjoyed reading, traveling and being with her family. She also loved to sing and was a long-time member of the Greater Harmony Chorus chapter of the Sweet Adelines. Rozella’s inquisitive mind, old soul and kind, loving heart will be greatly missed. No Visitation. Private Interment will be at Plum Creek Cemetery, Plum.
