Roger was indeed a mentor to many. I count myself among those to have benefitted from his insights, and time in the outdoors. His passion for the outdoors was infectious. I consider it a privilege to have known the man and to have had him as a leader of our Boy Scout Troop in my youth. He lead a group of my friends, and me, on many treks through the woods of PA and beyond.

Thoughts and condolences go out to his family.
Thank you for sharing him with us.
The earth breathed heavily at his passing.

Prayers and sympathy for Roger and his great family. Reading his obituary reminded me of my own father in several ways, and I would have liked to have met him! Roger was especially remembered at the Mass I celebrated today. My God continue to bless him into eternal life!

Dolores and family, we are so sorry for your great loss. We wish we could be there to personally offer you comfort, but we find ourselves out of town. We have not seen you and Roger for a number of years, but the time has not dimmed our admiration and respect for the two of you. We hope our paths will again cross.

Please accept my heartfelt condolence on the passing of Roger. I was one of the 25 Eagle scouts mentioned in his impressive obituary, for which I feel honored. Certain events in one's life blaze lifelong memories, my years in scouting and Roger's contributions are solid.

Thank you, Paul, for your heart felt condolences for my Dad. He really enjoyed every minute of his time with the Scouts and working with young men to obtain their Eagle status was one of his favorite tasks.

Thank you, Brian. Taking boys to Gettysburg was one of the highlights of his life. He thoroughly enjoyed working with the scouts ever since my brothers were young Boy Scouts. My mother appreciated your post very much.
