D. Deanne Gelis

D. Deanne Gelis, age 91 of North Side on Feb. 8, 2021.  

Wife of the late Nicholas S. Gelis.  

Mother of Cindy (Jim) Straub and the late Stephen N. Gelis (surviving Candi).  

Grandmother of Michael (Tiffany) Straub, Jonathan (Rachel) Straub, and Niki (Ted) Dillenburg.  

Great grandmother of Gelis and Taryn Straub, Becket and Milo Straub, and Sammy Dillenburg.  

Daughter of the late John Raymond and Sarah Tornblom.  

Sister of Shirley Carpenter (Dr. Samuel Louis), James (Dolores) Tornblom, and the late John Tornblom.  

Also many nieces and nephews.  

Deanne was a wife and mother who loved her husband, children and grandchildren passionately. She and Nick were lifelong members of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church and enjoyed all things Greek.

Having graduated from Mercy School of Nursing, she served those in need of medical attention with care and compassion.

Always a lady of grace and elegance, her talents were numerous.

She was an accomplished seamstress, an artisan of stained glass and an amazing cook and hostess who thrived on entertaining.

Deanne will be missed by all who knew her.

May her memory be eternal.

Funeral Service Thursday 10 AM at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church 985 Providence Blvd. Pittsburgh, PA 15237.
