Dorothy Marie (Knoebel) Lynch

Dorothy Marie Knoebel Lynch, 96, passed away Sunday, January 9, 2022 at Holy Family Manor in Pittsburgh, PA.  She was the widow of William J. Lynch.  A lifelong resident of Pittsburgh, she was born November 9, 1925  to Jerome J. and Philomina A. “Minnie” (Heyl) Knoebel.  She graduated from St. Benedict’s Academy, married in 1948, and remained devoted to her family, embraced changing technology and was an avid supporter of Pittsburgh professional sports.  

Survivors include her three children William J. Lynch, Jr (Patti)  Fredericksburg, VA, Edward T. Lynch (Bev) Valencia, PA and Mary Beth Ament (Billy) Shaler Twp, PA; nine grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and two brothers: Robert L. Knoebel of Laurel Gardens, PA and Donald P. Knoebel (Georgette) of Cave Creek, AZ, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins; and many dear friends.  

In addition to her husband of 34 years, she was predeceased by her siblings:  Dolores K. McKee, Mary Louise K. Mueller and Jerome J. Knoebel, Jr.  

No visitation, Funeral Mass Monday January 17 at 10 AM at St. Matthew Parish, St. Bonaventure Church, everyone please meet at church.  Interment will be held privately.
