Kurt Richard Nestel Sr.

Kurt Richard Nestel Sr., age 81, went home to his Lord & Savior on Saturday, March 19th, 2022. Born in Pittsburgh on May 25th, 1940, he was the son of the late Kurt & Marie (Pfeiffer) Nestel.
Kurt graduated from Shaler HS & the University of Pittsburgh with a degree in electrical engineering in 1962. While at the University of Pittsburgh, Kurt completed the ROTC program. Upon graduation, Kurt fulfilled his commitment to the US Army, including a stint in Korea. Kurt then gained employment with Ohio Power Co as an electrical engineer, and worked there until his retirement. Kurt married Dorothy E. Schwarzbach on June 18th, 1965. They were married for 55 years. Kurt was active in his church, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, and many other organizations throughout his life. Kurt is survived by his sister, Marie (Robert) Kubala, brother in law Ernest Miller, son Kurt (Marla) Nestel Jr, daughter Lore (Alex) Yu, grandaughters Brittany, Christina, & Amy Yu, Kaitlyn(Aaron) Sullivan, Katarina, Kerstin & Kyrie Nestel.
Kurt will be greatly missed by his 4 legged companion, Princess. A family celebration of life will be held at a later date.
