Jeanne Goss Obituary
Passed away on June 21, 2017 after a courageous battle with cancer and with an unwavering faith in her Lord and Savior.
She was the beloved wife of 64 years and best friend of Calvin (Cal) Goss; devoted mother of Craig C Goss and wife Jan of Houston, TX, and Glenn A. Goss and wife Donna of Shaler; loving and proud grandmother (Geega) of Glenn A. Goss, Jr., Gina (Mark) Hayes, Victoria and Katherine Goss. She was thrilled to be a great-grandma (great Geega) of Madeline Grace Hayes. She is also survived by a sister, Irene Obenauf of New Jersey. She was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Laura (Fitzsimmons) Liederman and sister Adele Streeter and her beloved pug "Sherman".
She was a lifelong Shaler resident and a 70 year member of Elfinwild Presbyterian Church, where she served as church secretary for 25 years, from 1969 to 1994. After retirement she and Cal enjoyed traveling, gardening, and square and round dancing with North Hills Squares. She loved cooking and baking, and above all spending time with her beloved grandchildren. Her greatest joy was in watching them grow from infants to fine young adults.
Jeanne will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, and as an avid dog lover and animal advocate. She loved all Gods creatures, great and small and will be sadly missed by her K-9 companion Chloe.
The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Neely Funeral Home 2208 Mt. Royal Boulevard, Glenshaw.
A service in celebration of her life will be held Monday at 10 AM at Elfinwild Presbyterian Church 3200 Mt. Royal Boulevard, Glenshaw, followed by interment at Mt. Royal Cemetery.
The family will welcome flowers or memorials to Humane Animal Rescue 6926 Hamilton Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15204 or West Deer Dog Shelter, 109 E. Union Rd., Cheswick, PA 15024.
